  • Driffield Engagement - Phase 1

    Initial priorities for Driffield were identified, including improved leisure facilities, arts and culture, and parks and green spaces.
  • Play Park Improvements

    May 2023

    A project to improve ERYC owned North End and Allotment Lane play parks and the Driffield Town Council owned St Margaret's Close play area. October 2021 - an engagement was launched to identify what improvements residents wanted. February 2022 - engagement took place to feedback on the improvement proposals. August 2022 - installation work begins across the three play areas with an investment of over £194,000. May 2023 - a project evaluation took place
  • Millennium Green Development

    Driffield Engagement Phase 1 - feedback was gathered to show how Millennium Green was being used, what issues prevented people from enjoying the area and any suggestions for improvement. Summer 2022 - an engagement took place to allow residents an opportunity to feedback on The Driffield Millennium Green Trusts proposal. Autumn 2022 - work commenced on the proposal. Summer 2024 - plans are underway to improve access around the site and create a seating area.
  • Driffield Michaelmas Feastival

    Previous engagements had highlighted the need to develop the town centre event calendar and introduce alternative markets and festivals. Lacking a town cnetre event space Cross Hill car park and Mill Street were proposed as an alternative space for events of this nature to be provided. Market Square Group having successfully piloted 6 food and drink Feastivals across the county, were recruited to deliver a Feastival to Driffield. 29th September - 1st October the Driffield Michaelmas Feastival was held on Cross Hill car park and Mill Street. An evaluation of the event took place during October 2023.
  • "A Postcard from Driffield" mural installation

    April 2024

    An idea from Driffield Town Couoncil to install a mural. Funding was secured from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and a working group set up comprising of representatives from Driffield Town Council, the Town Centre Steering Group and the ERYC Local Growth team. During May 2023 Driffield Commonplcae gave residents the opportunity to contribute to the project, share what they feel has brought Driffield to where it is today and what they consider to be the current important landmarks and features of the town. November 2023 - Driffield Town Council requested input from residents in helping to shape the final design of a large piece of public wall art in Driffield town centre. February 2024 - Lewis Hobson of Durham Spray poaints completed the installation. April 2024 - a project evaluation took place.
  • Improving Wayfinding

    A project to improve the Welcome to Driffield message and wayfinding around the town for visitors. To include new mapboards, signage at key entry points to the town and to link visitors at The Showground with the town centre.
